Environmental Policy – Energy, Greenhouse Gases and Waste
Lerian-Online BV
Version: January 2025
1. Purpose and scope
This policy applies to all activities of Lerian-Online, including our offices, training locations, digital platforms and the teleworking of our staff. We aim to structurally reduce our environmental impact and deliberately choose a way of working that is energy-efficient, digital and low-waste.
2. Commitment
Lerian-Online commits to:
- limiting the energy consumption of our activities and progressively reducing our CO₂ emissions (scope 1 and 2);
- avoiding waste generation and maximising recycling;
- actively raising awareness among our employees, trainers and learners about sustainable and responsible behaviour;
- continuing to invest in digital processes to ensure a near paperless way of working.
This commitment is part of our quality approach and our business strategy.
3. Qualitative objectives
- We continue to aim for a fully digital administrative and pedagogical workflow through our online management system and e-learning platform.
- We reduce unnecessary energy consumption in our offices and during telework through conscious use of lighting, heating and IT equipment.
- We minimise waste production through selective waste collection, limiting printing and encouraging reuse.
- We raise awareness through internal communication, clear guidelines and posters in our offices and training rooms promoting energy- and waste-conscious behaviour.
- In our offices, we use an Aqualex drinking water tap, which eliminates the use of plastic water bottles and reduces both waste production and CO₂ impact.
4. Quantitative objectives
- Lerian-Online aims to reduce total electricity consumption by 10% by 2030, compared with the reference year 2024.
- By 2030, we aim to recycle at least 90% of internally generated waste (paper, PMD, electronic materials).
- We maintain a paper consumption that is at least 80% lower than in 2019.
5. Our working method
5.1 Digital way of working (paperless)
Our administrative processes are fully digital. Documents such as quotations, schedules, invitations, attendance lists, evaluation reports and training programmes are created, sent and archived electronically.
Pedagogically, we also work almost entirely digitally:
- level tests, needs analyses and homework are offered online;
- trainers use digital teaching materials via the e-learning platform;
- all document sharing takes place electronically.
5.2 Energy management
- Staff switch off lights, screens and equipment when leaving a workspace.
- IT equipment is selected based on energy efficiency.
- The same principles apply during telework: laptops and peripherals are set to energy-saving modes, and permanent standby is avoided.
- Posters in our offices and training rooms remind staff of good practices, such as switching off lights and closing windows.
5.3 Waste management
- All our offices are equipped with selective waste collection (paper, PMD, residual waste, electronics).
- Printing is limited to strict necessity.
- IT and office equipment is recycled or responsibly disposed of through certified partners.
- Thanks to our Aqualex tap, we avoid the use of plastic water bottles.
6. Communication
This policy is shared internally and made externally available through our website.
